The first time i visited Anna’s aesthetic was in 2023 and from the first consultation I knew I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere else for my skin facials, she’s truly one of the best and takes such good care of her clients. I visited again last month for a chemical peel and not only does my skin look amazing but she is also just the sweetest and really cares for my skin concerns and gives me advice on how to regulate my acne. She is also amazing to speak to and I genuinely see her as an old sister! best customer service and best facials you could ever ask for

I had my chemical peel here and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Adrian and Emma took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable throughout. The environment is clean, relaxing, and very professional. The staff are not only highly skilled but also genuinely warm and welcoming. Having melanin-rich skin often makes you cautious about skin treatments, but this clinic exceeded all expectations. I was treated with such respect, understanding, and expert care. I had so many questions walking in, and every single one was answered with patience and depth. As someone with darker skin, that kind of care means everything. They understood the nuances of my skin tone and made me feel completely reassured. I can’t thank the team enough for their sensitivity and knowledge when it comes to treating diverse skin tones. They explained everything in detail, reassured me at every step and while I’m still in treatment with them, they respond to any concerns I may have as I go through the process of my treatment. 👍🏽💯

I won a face peel at work through a raffle and did need some help with my skin. Since having the treatment and then followed on using the products, the last 4 weeks I have really noticed a difference in my skin. Rachel has really given me the confidence back that I'd really lost.

Had a wonderful experience with Nabila- easy to talk to, professional but not patronising. Trusted her as she has actual medical experience as a dentist- would have been wary otherwise! Excellent communication throughout- she even sent a video on how to find the clinic and was always quick to reply post treatment for any questions I had. Considering it was a giveaway win, she still managed to fit me in at a time that was convenient for me. The treatment (skin peel) was all explained clearly, done carefully and she didn’t rush through it. The clinic itself is also very clean, warming and welcoming- not your typical all white clinic. Would definitely recommend.

Really helpful, friendly staff and a welcoming waiting area: it made me feel like I was visiting a spa in a holiday resort. Dr Irena is really friendly and takes time to fully explain things. Also, it's not every day that a dermatologist complements you on your skin! She recommended different products and treatments for me to try, but there was no hard sell, just lots of information and the encouragement to do my own research as well before committing to anything. I'm hoping to be back in the near future to try one of their facial peels.

FAQs

A milk peel is a type of chemical peel that uses lactic acid as its primary active ingredient, derived from milk, to gently exfoliate the skin and improve overall skin quality. The term 'milk peel' can refer to any lactic acid-based peel or specifically to branded products like the Dermaceutic Milk Peel, which combines multiple acids for enhanced results. Lactic acid in milk peels works as an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells; promotes gentle exfoliation and cell turnover; provides hydrating properties due to its humectant nature; and is generally gentler than other AHAs like glycolic acid due to its larger molecular size. The Dermaceutic Milk Peel specifically contains a combination of glycolic acid (50%) for deeper exfoliation; lactic acid (20%) for gentle exfoliation and hydration; and salicylic acid (2%) for pore penetration and antibacterial benefits. Milk peels are used to treat dull, lacklustre skin; uneven skin tone and mild pigmentation; fine lines and early signs of ageing; rough or textured skin; mild acne and congestion; and overall skin rejuvenation. The treatment is particularly valued for being suitable for sensitive skin types; providing effective exfoliation with less irritation than stronger peels; offering hydrating benefits alongside exfoliation; and serving as an excellent introduction to chemical peels for beginners. Milk peels are typically performed as a series of treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart for optimal results.

Prices for Milk Peel can vary between clinics and depend on the treatment plan and practitioner. Across the UK, the price of Milk Peel typically ranges from around £90 to £432 depending on factors such as the number of sessions and the treatment area. Main cost drivers include treatment area and complexity, whether you need a single session or a course, the specific product or peel strength used, and the practitioner’s experience. When comparing options, consider aftercare and follow-up costs to understand how much Milk Peel costs or the cost of Milk Peel overall. You can find the exact, up-to-date price for this treatment in the catalogue

Yes, milk peels are good for many skin types and concerns, offering effective yet gentle exfoliation that improves skin quality without the intensity of stronger chemical peels. They are particularly valued for their versatility and suitability for sensitive skin. Benefits that make milk peels good include effective exfoliation that removes dead cells and promotes cell turnover; hydrating properties from lactic acid's humectant nature; gentler action than glycolic or TCA peels with less irritation; suitability for sensitive and reactive skin types; minimal downtime allowing quick return to normal activities; and cumulative improvement with regular treatments. Milk peels are particularly good for dull skin needing brightness and radiance; dry or dehydrated skin that needs exfoliation without further drying; sensitive skin that cannot tolerate aggressive peels; those new to chemical peels wanting a gentle introduction; mild pigmentation and uneven skin tone; fine lines and early ageing signs; and regular maintenance of skin health. Limitations to consider include that milk peels provide more subtle results than stronger peels; significant concerns may require more intensive treatments; multiple sessions are needed for optimal improvement; and they are not suitable for severe acne scarring or deep wrinkles. Milk peels are good when you want gentle yet effective exfoliation; have sensitive or reactive skin; prefer minimal downtime and recovery; seek gradual, natural-looking improvement; and want hydrating benefits alongside exfoliation. For appropriate candidates with realistic expectations, milk peels provide an excellent balance of effectiveness and gentleness, making them a popular choice for regular skin maintenance and improvement.

No, you do not always visibly peel after a milk peel. Whether you experience visible peeling depends on the strength of the peel, your skin type, how your skin responds to the treatment and how many treatments you have had previously. Visible peeling is not required for the treatment to be effective. What typically happens after a milk peel shows that many people experience no visible peeling, just smoother, brighter skin; some experience light, fine flaking that is barely noticeable; a minority may have more noticeable peeling, particularly with stronger formulations; and the exfoliation often occurs at a microscopic level without visible shedding. Factors affecting whether you peel include the concentration of acids in the peel; the application time and number of layers; your skin type and sensitivity; whether you are new to chemical peels or have built tolerance; your skin's hydration levels; and post-treatment care and moisturisation. If peeling occurs, it typically begins 2 to 3 days after treatment; presents as light, fine flaking rather than dramatic shedding; lasts 3 to 5 days; is concentrated around the nose, mouth and chin often; and should not be picked or pulled. The absence of visible peeling does not mean the peel was ineffective because exfoliation occurs at a cellular level; cell turnover is accelerated regardless of visible flaking; and improvement in skin quality happens with or without obvious peeling. To minimise visible peeling, keep skin well-hydrated with gentle moisturisers; avoid additional exfoliating products; do not pick at any flaking skin; protect from sun exposure; and follow all aftercare instructions provided.

Milk peel does cause skin to exfoliate and shed, but the process is generally gentler than more aggressive peels, and the degree of visible peeling varies significantly between individuals and depends on the specific peel formulation and strength used. How milk peel causes exfoliation involves the lactic acid and other acids dissolving the bonds between dead skin cells in the stratum corneum; this loosens the outer layer of dead cells; the cells are then shed through the natural turnover process; and new, fresher skin is revealed underneath. The visible peeling experience typically shows that for most people, the exfoliation is subtle with fine, light flaking; some may notice no visible peeling at all; others may experience moderate flaking similar to mild sunburn peeling; and dramatic, sheet-like peeling is uncommon with standard milk peels. What to expect during the peeling process shows that days 1 to 2 bring possible tightness and dryness; days 2 to 4 bring any visible flaking typically beginning; days 4 to 7 see peeling completing and new skin revealed; and throughout the process, skin should be kept hydrated and protected. Milk peel compared to stronger peels shows that TCA and deep peels cause more significant, dramatic peeling; milk peels are designed for gentle exfoliation with minimal visible shedding; the gentler approach makes milk peels suitable for sensitive skin; and results are achieved through cumulative treatments rather than aggressive single sessions. Important guidance during any peeling includes never picking, pulling or forcing skin to peel; keeping skin hydrated with gentle moisturisers; avoiding sun exposure and using SPF 50+; and allowing natural shedding to occur without interference.

A milk peel facial is a professional skincare treatment that incorporates a lactic acid-based chemical peel as the central component of a comprehensive facial experience. The treatment combines the exfoliating benefits of a milk peel with additional steps to cleanse, prepare and nourish the skin for optimal results. A typical milk peel facial includes cleansing to thoroughly remove makeup, oil and impurities from the skin; skin analysis where the practitioner assesses skin type and concerns; preparation to degrease and prepare skin for peel penetration; milk peel application where the lactic acid-based peel solution is applied and left for the appropriate time; neutralisation or removal of the peel according to product protocols; soothing treatment with calming masks or serums to reduce any irritation; hydration applying moisturisers and protective products; and sun protection with SPF application before leaving. The facial experience differs from at-home peels through professional assessment ensuring appropriate treatment; higher concentration products achieving better results; proper technique and timing for safety and efficacy; complementary treatments enhancing overall results; and professional aftercare guidance. Benefits of a milk peel facial include the comprehensive treatment addressing multiple skin needs; expert application ensuring safety and effectiveness; relaxing, pampering experience alongside clinical benefits; customisation to your specific skin concerns; and professional-grade products not available for home use. Milk peel facials are ideal for regular skin maintenance every 4 to 6 weeks; preparing skin for special events; addressing dullness, texture and mild pigmentation; those wanting professional treatment with minimal downtime; and as an introduction to chemical peel treatments.

Before milk peel treatment, people typically have dull, lacklustre skin lacking radiance and glow; uneven skin tone with mild discolouration; rough or bumpy skin texture; fine lines and early signs of ageing; mildly congested pores; dry or dehydrated skin needing exfoliation; and overall tired-looking complexion. These concerns often accumulate gradually and affect how fresh and healthy the skin appears. After milk peel treatment, following completion of a recommended series (typically 4 to 6 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart) and allowing skin to fully reveal results, most people experience noticeable improvements. Common results include brighter, more radiant complexion with improved luminosity; smoother, more refined skin texture; more even skin tone with reduced mild discolouration; improved hydration and skin plumpness; softened fine lines; clearer, less congested pores; and overall healthier, more youthful-looking skin. The improvement timeline after each treatment shows that days 1 to 2 bring possible tightness and mild sensitivity; days 2 to 5 bring any light flaking if it occurs; days 5 to 7 reveal smoother, brighter skin; and cumulative improvement builds with each subsequent treatment. The degree of improvement depends on your baseline skin condition; the number of treatments completed; the specific milk peel formulation used; individual skin response; adherence to aftercare and sun protection; and supporting skincare routine between treatments. Before and after expectations should be realistic: milk peels provide gradual, subtle improvement rather than dramatic transformation; multiple treatments are needed for optimal results; the treatment addresses surface concerns rather than deep structural issues; and results are enhanced with proper skincare maintenance. Most satisfied milk peel patients appreciate the gentle yet effective approach; notice meaningful improvement in skin brightness and texture; value the minimal downtime and recovery; find it an excellent maintenance treatment for ongoing skin health; and enjoy the hydrating benefits alongside exfoliation. The treatment is particularly well-suited for those wanting consistent, cumulative improvement without the intensity and recovery of stronger chemical peels.
