I truly believe Dr Liakas is one of London’s leading practitioners and aestheticians. I visited Dr Liakas for dermal filler, I had filler injected in my lips and jawline. Dr Liakas recommended me a natural subtle change, he gave me a beautiful modelesque, natural, lifted and elevated look. I couldn’t be more happier with the result. I will only visit Dr Liakas for my dermal fillers since he is the best and made the whole procedure seamless and comfortable and because he gave me a beautiful look.

I am very impressed by Mayfair Aesthetics. Before I started my course of treatment, I did a lot a research into the types of laser suitable for darker skins and found out that Mayfair used one of the best laser hair removal machines. Apart from the equipment, the level of attention to detail blew me away. They are so careful to make sure that your skin will not be adversely affected by the treatment because of something you are using or taking, such as certain medicines which are light sensitive. This made me feel confident of their approach to the well being of their clients. The staff have been great; both friendly and professional. I noticed a difference after 2 treatments. I would recommend Mayfair Aesthetics without hesitation.

Visited the practice today. Dr. Sheraz was very kind and informative. In my case, I was referred to see a specialist for the root cause, but I would happily come back for any other treatment including ceramic onlays since Dr. Sheraz gave me a very good impression and I was able to feel the depth of his experience and passion for very high quality work.

Leanne is always super professional and friendly making the treatments really enjoyable. I honestly can’t believe how effective the cavitation has been on the backs of my legs/bum. After just 3 treatments, the skin tone and texture looks smooth and my cellulite has rapidly improved (I had a lot!) which no amount of exercise/diet seemed to shift. Highly recommend! Amazing treatment giving me confidence to start swimming again 🙌🏻🩷 x

I went to Vanessa to get lipo laser, cavitation and wood therapy. 10/10. Such an amazing person made my experience so great! Was the first time I’ve ever got these treatments and I would highly recommend using her. Good music, good vibes and such a lovely person to have a conversation with. If you want a quiet session she will cater to that too. Not everybody wants someone who talks and she offers both. See you soon Nessa!xxxxxxxx

FAQs

Ultrasound cavitation, also called ultrasonic cavitation or cavi-lipo, is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses low-frequency ultrasound waves to break down fat cells beneath the skin. The treatment works by applying ultrasound energy to targeted areas, creating pressure changes in the fat tissue that cause fat cell membranes to rupture and release their contents. The released fat (triglycerides) is then processed by the liver and eliminated from the body through natural metabolic pathways and the lymphatic system. Unlike surgical liposuction which physically removes fat cells, ultrasound cavitation destroys fat cells that are then naturally eliminated over several weeks. The treatment involves a handheld device that delivers ultrasound energy through the skin to underlying fat deposits, typically at frequencies of 30 to 40 kHz. The procedure can target various areas including abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs, arms, back and buttocks to address stubborn fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise. Each treatment session typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area treated, causes minimal discomfort with most people feeling warmth and gentle vibration, requires no anaesthesia or incisions, and allows immediate return to normal activities with no downtime. A typical treatment course consists of 6 to 12 sessions spaced 3 to 7 days apart for optimal results, as the body needs time to process and eliminate released fat between treatments. Results develop gradually over weeks to months as the body eliminates destroyed fat cells and measurements progressively improve.

Prices for Ultrasound Cavitation vary between clinics across the UK. The typical UK price for Ultrasound Cavitation typically ranges from around £65 to £950. Factors that influence the price of Ultrasound Cavitation include the treatment area, the specific device or technology used, the number of sessions required, and the practitioner’s experience and clinic location, so the cost of Ultrasound Cavitation overall can differ — this will affect how much Ultrasound Cavitation costs at different clinics. You can find the exact, up-to-date price for this treatment in the catalogue

Ultrasound cavitation can work for reducing localized fat deposits when used appropriately on suitable candidates, though results are generally modest and gradual rather than dramatic. The treatment has shown effectiveness in clinical studies and real-world use, but the degree of improvement varies significantly. Research and patient outcomes show that ultrasound cavitation can reduce fat layer thickness by 2 to 4cm in circumference over a treatment course; it provides visible improvement in body contour and shape; studies demonstrate measurable fat reduction in treated areas; and many people report noticeable improvement in how clothes fit and body appearance. However, effectiveness depends critically on several factors including being at or near your ideal weight with localized fat deposits, as it is not a weight loss solution for obesity; realistic expectations about moderate improvement rather than dramatic transformation; completing the full recommended treatment course of 6 to 12 sessions; maintaining healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise; adequate hydration to support fat elimination; and individual metabolism and how efficiently your body processes released fat. Ultrasound cavitation works best for people with small to moderate localized fat deposits in specific areas; those already maintaining healthy lifestyle seeking refinement; individuals wanting non-surgical body contouring without downtime; people committed to multiple treatment sessions; and those with realistic expectations about gradual, moderate results. It is less effective for significant weight loss or obesity; very large fat deposits requiring more aggressive intervention; people with poor lymphatic function or metabolism; as a substitute for healthy eating and exercise; or for people expecting dramatic, surgery-like results. Most people see gradual reduction in measurements and improved body contour over the course of treatment and the weeks following, with results best appreciated through measurements and photos rather than dramatic visible change. While ultrasound cavitation can work and provide worthwhile improvement for appropriate candidates, it should be viewed as a body contouring tool for specific areas rather than a comprehensive fat loss solution.

Ultrasound cavitation has moderate effectiveness for body contouring and localized fat reduction when used on appropriate candidates with realistic expectations, though it is not as effective as surgical liposuction and results vary considerably between individuals. Clinical evidence shows mixed but generally positive results with studies demonstrating 2 to 4cm average circumference reduction in treated areas after a full course; measurable decrease in subcutaneous fat thickness on ultrasound imaging; patient satisfaction rates of 60% to 75% for appropriate candidates; and objective improvements documented through measurements and photos. However, effectiveness is limited by several factors. The treatment provides modest rather than dramatic results, working best for small to moderate fat deposits; individual response varies significantly, with some people being much more responsive than others; results are gradual, taking weeks to months to fully develop; and the body's ability to eliminate released fat affects outcomes. Ultrasound cavitation is most effective for localized fat deposits like love handles, lower abdomen, inner and outer thighs, or back fat; people at or near ideal weight seeking body contouring; those with good skin elasticity to contract as fat reduces; individuals with healthy liver and lymphatic function for fat processing; and people committed to supporting results through lifestyle. It is less effective for generalized obesity or significant weight loss needs; very large fat deposits; people with poor metabolism or lymphatic drainage; loose skin that would not retract after fat reduction; or as a standalone solution without lifestyle support. Compared to other fat reduction methods, ultrasound cavitation is less effective than surgical liposuction which removes more fat more dramatically; comparable to or slightly less effective than cryolipolysis (fat freezing) in many studies; more convenient than surgery with no recovery time but more modest results; and requires multiple sessions unlike surgical one-time intervention. Factors that improve effectiveness include completing the full recommended 8 to 12 treatment course; maintaining excellent hydration before and after sessions to support fat elimination; following a healthy diet and avoiding excessive calories; exercising regularly to support metabolism; and spacing treatments appropriately to allow fat processing. Most people with appropriate body composition and realistic expectations see worthwhile improvement in measurements and body contour that makes the treatment effective for their goals, though it should not be viewed as a substitute for healthy lifestyle or a solution for significant fat reduction needs.

Ultrasound cavitation destroys fat cells permanently in the treated areas, meaning those specific fat cells will not regenerate or return. However, whether the results are truly 'permanent' depends entirely on maintaining stable weight and healthy lifestyle after treatment, as remaining fat cells can expand if you gain weight. The treatment works by rupturing fat cell membranes, causing the cells to release their contents and die. Once destroyed, these specific fat cells are permanently eliminated from the body and will not regenerate, as adult humans have a relatively fixed number of fat cells. This means the potential for lasting results exists. However, several important caveats apply: remaining fat cells in treated and untreated areas can still expand if you gain weight after treatment; the body can still store fat in remaining cells, diminishing or reversing results; new fat can accumulate in untreated areas, changing overall body shape; and without lifestyle maintenance, results gradually disappear as weight increases. The permanence of results depends on weight maintenance through healthy eating and regular exercise; continuing active lifestyle and avoiding sedentary habits; proper hydration supporting metabolic function; avoiding significant caloric excess; and possibly periodic maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months. Long-term outcomes show that people maintaining stable weight can preserve results for years or indefinitely; those who gain 2 to 5kg may see some reduction in results but often maintain improvements; and those who gain significant weight will lose most or all improvements as remaining fat cells expand. To maximize permanence of ultrasound cavitation results, maintain stable weight within 2 to 3kg of post-treatment weight; continue healthy eating habits and appropriate caloric intake; exercise regularly including both cardio and strength training; stay well-hydrated to support metabolic and lymphatic function; and address factors that led to fat accumulation initially. Think of ultrasound cavitation as permanently removing some fat cells, creating a better starting point, but ongoing healthy lifestyle is essential to maintain the improved body contour achieved. The treatment is not a one-time fix that allows abandoning healthy habits; results require continued commitment to weight management. For people who maintain stable weight and healthy lifestyle, ultrasound cavitation results can be very long-lasting or permanent. For those who gain weight, results gradually fade as the remaining fat cells expand, though the destroyed cells never return.

Ultrasound cavitation is generally considered safe when performed by trained practitioners using appropriate equipment and following proper protocols, though like any aesthetic treatment, it carries some risks and is not suitable for everyone. The treatment is non-invasive with no incisions, anaesthesia or significant risks when performed correctly. Common side effects are typically mild and temporary including mild redness or warmth in treated areas; temporary increased thirst or urination as the body eliminates fat; mild tenderness or sensitivity; and occasional bruising. More concerning potential side effects can include temporary numbness or tingling from nerve stimulation; burns or tissue damage if equipment is faulty or settings inappropriate; uneven results from inconsistent application; and dehydration if adequate fluid intake is not maintained. Safety depends heavily on proper patient screening and medical assessment; using quality, properly maintained equipment; appropriate settings for individual tissue type; correct technique and treatment protocols; adequate hydration before and after treatment; and realistic treatment expectations and patient education. Ultrasound cavitation is contraindicated and should not be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; have heart disease, pacemaker or metal implants in treatment areas; have liver, kidney or metabolic disorders affecting fat processing; have cancer or are undergoing cancer treatment; have infections, skin conditions or inflammation in treatment areas; or are significantly overweight, as it is for body contouring, not weight loss. Additional safety considerations include the importance of adequate hydration before and after treatment to support fat elimination; avoiding alcohol before and after sessions as it burdens the liver processing fat; not treating the same area too frequently without adequate recovery time; and monitoring for unusual symptoms and reporting concerns promptly. To ensure safe treatment, choose reputable clinics with trained practitioners and quality equipment; ensure thorough consultation and health screening before treatment; verify proper contraindication screening and safety protocols; stay well-hydrated throughout the treatment course; and report any unusual symptoms immediately. While ultrasound cavitation is generally safe for appropriate candidates, the lack of regulation in some regions means treatment quality and safety can vary significantly between providers. Always choose established clinics with proper training rather than seeking the cheapest option, as safety should be the primary concern.

Ultrasound cavitation targets and destroys fat cells in specific body areas through a process of creating pressure changes that rupture fat cell membranes. The treatment performs several functions: it breaks down fat cells by delivering low-frequency ultrasound waves that create rapid pressure changes (cavitation bubbles) in fat tissue, causing fat cell membranes to rupture and release their contents; the released triglycerides (fat) are then converted into free fatty acids and glycerol; these components enter the bloodstream and lymphatic system; the liver processes the fatty acids for elimination; and the body naturally eliminates the waste products through urine and the digestive system. What ultrasound cavitation does for body contouring includes reducing localized fat deposits in targeted areas like abdomen, thighs, arms and flanks; creating more contoured, defined body shape; reducing circumference measurements by 2 to 4cm typically over a treatment course; improving the appearance of specific problem areas; and providing non-surgical alternative to liposuction for small to moderate fat deposits. The treatment works specifically on subcutaneous fat (fat beneath the skin), not visceral fat (deep abdominal fat around organs); targets specific treatment areas without affecting surrounding tissue; requires the body's natural processes to eliminate released fat; and takes weeks for results to fully develop as elimination occurs. However, it is crucial to understand what ultrasound cavitation does NOT do: it does not cause significant weight loss, as it addresses localized fat deposits, not overall body fat; it cannot eliminate large amounts of fat or serve as a weight loss solution; it does not tighten loose skin or address significant skin laxity; it does not work on visceral fat or overall body fat percentage; and it cannot overcome poor diet or sedentary lifestyle. The process requires the body to have healthy liver and lymphatic function to process and eliminate released fat; adequate hydration to support elimination; proper diet preventing new fat accumulation; and realistic expectations about moderate, localized improvement. Results from ultrasound cavitation are gradual, with destroyed fat cells being eliminated over 8 to 12 weeks; progressive improvement in measurements and contour; best results visible after completing treatment series; and maintenance requiring stable weight and healthy lifestyle. The treatment essentially provides spot reduction of stubborn fat deposits in targeted areas for people already maintaining healthy weight, creating better body proportions and contour in specific problem areas that resist diet and exercise.

The recommended frequency for ultrasound cavitation treatments is typically twice per week with at least 3 days between sessions, though protocols vary based on individual factors and practitioner guidelines. The standard treatment protocol usually involves 2 treatments per week (every 3 to 4 days) during the initial treatment course; a total of 8 to 12 sessions over 4 to 6 weeks for optimal results; and no more than 2 to 3 treatments per week to allow adequate recovery and fat processing. The spacing between sessions is important for several reasons: the body needs time to process and eliminate the released fat through the liver and lymphatic system; treating too frequently can overwhelm the body's elimination capacity; adequate rest between treatments allows tissue recovery; and allowing time between sessions enables assessment of progress and response. Treatment frequency depends on the treatment area, with smaller areas potentially tolerating more frequent treatment while larger areas need more recovery time; individual metabolism and how quickly your body processes released fat; the intensity and settings used during treatment; your overall health and liver/kidney function; and practitioner protocols and equipment specifications. Most practitioners recommend starting with the standard protocol of 2 treatments per week; monitoring your response and adjusting frequency if needed; allowing at least 72 hours between sessions for the same area; and never exceeding 3 treatments per week regardless of urgency. Signs you might be treating too frequently include persistent swelling or tenderness not resolving between sessions; increased fatigue or malaise; digestive discomfort or nausea; lack of improvement despite multiple treatments; or feeling unwell or overtaxed. If these occur, increase spacing between treatments. After completing the initial treatment series, most people take a break of several weeks to months to assess final results; some choose maintenance sessions every 3 to 6 months; and frequency should always be adjusted based on results and response. Important guidelines include never having ultrasound cavitation on the same area more than twice per week; drinking 1.5 to 2 litres of water daily to support fat elimination; avoiding alcohol 24 to 48 hours before and after treatment as it burdens the liver; allowing your body adequate time to process released fat; and being patient with gradual results rather than rushing treatment. While there may be temptation to have treatments more frequently hoping for faster results, this is counterproductive and potentially harmful, as the body's elimination systems need time to process released fat. Overwhelming your liver and lymphatic system with too-frequent treatments can reduce effectiveness and potentially cause health issues. Follow your practitioner's specific protocol, which should be based on your individual assessment, treatment response and overall health status.

Before ultrasound cavitation treatment, people typically have localized fat deposits in specific areas like lower abdomen, love handles, thighs, arms or back that resist diet and exercise; overall body shape concerns with disproportionate fat distribution; frustration with stubborn areas that do not improve despite healthy lifestyle; desire for more contoured, defined body shape; and realistic understanding that they are seeking body contouring, not major weight loss. These individuals are usually at or near their goal weight but have specific problem areas affecting body proportions and confidence. After ultrasound cavitation treatment, following completion of a full treatment course (typically 8 to 12 sessions over 4 to 6 weeks) and allowing time for the body to eliminate destroyed fat cells (usually assessed 8 to 12 weeks after the final session), most appropriate candidates experience gradual, moderate improvements. Common results include reduced circumference measurements in treated areas, typically 2 to 4cm total reduction; smoother body contours with less pronounced bulges; better body proportions and shape; improved fit of clothing, particularly around waist, hips or thighs; and more defined appearance in treated areas. The degree of improvement varies considerably depending on starting body composition and amount of fat in treated areas, with better results for moderate deposits; individual metabolism and efficiency of fat elimination; the number of treatments completed and consistency of sessions; adherence to hydration, diet and lifestyle recommendations during treatment; and realistic expectations about moderate contouring rather than dramatic transformation. Some people achieve quite noticeable reduction in measurements and visible improvement in body contour that photographs well, while others experience more subtle changes that are primarily measured rather than dramatically visible. During and after the treatment process, changes develop gradually with minimal visible change during the first few sessions as fat begins processing; measurements showing progressive reduction over weeks 2 to 6 of treatment; continued improvement for 8 to 12 weeks after completing treatment series as fat elimination continues; and final results best assessed 3 months after final session. Taking regular measurements and standardized photos in consistent lighting is essential for tracking gradual progress, as day-to-day changes are subtle. It is important to understand realistic expectations: ultrasound cavitation provides body contouring and spot reduction, not significant weight loss; results are measured in centimeters of circumference reduction, not dress sizes or dramatic pounds lost; improvements are gradual and natural-looking rather than sudden and obvious; individual response varies significantly with some people being much more responsive; and maintaining results requires stable weight and healthy lifestyle. Before and after photos should show realistic improvements from practitioners' own work demonstrating typical outcomes after complete treatment courses. Be cautious of dramatically edited or extreme transformations suggesting miraculous results, as these are not representative of typical outcomes. Most satisfied ultrasound cavitation clients are those who appreciate gradual improvement in specific body areas; notice measurements reducing and clothes fitting better; view treatment as refinement supporting their healthy lifestyle efforts; maintain realistic expectations about moderate rather than dramatic change; and commit to sustaining results through continued healthy habits. For people with localized fat deposits seeking body contouring who understand and accept the gradual, moderate nature of results, ultrasound cavitation can provide worthwhile improvement in body shape and proportions. However, it should not be viewed as a weight loss solution, miracle cure for significant fat reduction, or substitute for healthy eating and exercise. The treatment works best as a tool for refining stubborn areas in people already maintaining healthy weight, combined with ongoing commitment to nutrition, hydration, exercise and overall wellness for maintaining and maximizing results achieved.
