All I can say is amazing! I went to Josie to get lip fillers and I love the result. The service was amazing. Since this was my first time I was a bit nervous at first, but I can honestly say that I felt immediately safe and comfortable in Josie's hands. I can only recommend Josie and The Skin Suite. Very professional, clean, knowledgeable and just overall an amazing experience.

Just finished my first treatment plan and my skin has never looked better. It glows with health and I use less make up now. It has also tightened up nicely around my jaw line. More people should try treatment plans instead of the old way of buying packages of treatments. Its been much more effective for my skin to have a selection of treatments done as part of a plan in addition to specially selected skincare including a exosomes and a gentle but highly effective retinol. My skin barrier had been damaged by a few unexpectedly harsh treatments and this treatment plan gently helped my skin recover. I found morpheus8 too harsh so the I would highly recommend sofwave here as well. I'm also very happy with the results of my additional botox treatment.

I have been seeing Dr Christine Hall for Botox and dermal fillers for about two years now and I would never go to anyone else. She’s a magician and a perfectionist. She is also really frank and honest with you about what treatments you are and are not a candidate for, and she will never let you get carried away. It’s obvious that her priority is making you look like the best version of yourself long term and fostering a relationship where you trust her advice - quality of work and longevity over upselling or short term profit. I trust her completely as someone who previously never thought they’d try injectables! She’s also super generous with her time and skills. I never ever leave people/services reviews but she really does deserve the praise. Love this clinic.

Dr. Sarah Shah & Polynucleotide Treatments at Artistry Clinic — Simply Fabulous!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sarah Shah and the incredible team at Artistry Clinic. From the moment I walked through the doors, I always feel welcomed, listened to, and completely confident that I am in good hands!

I recently had Polynucleotide treatments with Dr. Shah, and the results have been fabulous!

Dr. Shah has such a natural talent for aesthetics — she combines medical precision with a genuine artistic eye, ensuring results that look beautifully refreshed and completely natural. She took the time to explain how polynucleotides work to rejuvenate the skin from within, stimulating collagen and elastin for long-term results rather than a quick fix.

The treatment itself was comfortable and surprisingly relaxing, with minimal downtime. Within days, I noticed my skin looking plumper and smoother, and over the following weeks, the glow just kept improving. I’ve received so many compliments — friends keep saying I look “rested” and “fresh,” which is exactly what I was hoping for.

What truly sets Dr. Sarah Shah apart is her warmth, honesty, and artistry. She tailors every treatment to your individual needs and makes you feel completely cared for from start to finish.

If you’re considering skin rejuvenation or simply want to invest in your skin’s long-term health, I can’t recommend Dr. Sarah Shah and the Artistry Clinic enough. The polynucleotide treatment is a total game-changer — subtle, natural, and absolutely fabulous.

Everyone here is so kind, attentive & honest. After having some initial consultations with Eda and Liz, who were both very knowledgeable & reassuring (& not pushy at all, which was important to me), I had a great anti-wrinkle treatment with Libby. Looking forward to my follow up review with her and next steps for a treatment plan.

I truly believe Dr Liakas is one of London’s leading practitioners and aestheticians. I visited Dr Liakas for dermal filler, I had filler injected in my lips and jawline. I will only visit Dr Liakas for my dermal fillers since he is the best and made the whole procedure seamless and comfortable and because he gave me a beautiful look.

Visiting Clinicbe has always been such a treat — the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and I always leave feeling relaxed and well cared for. I first went for PRF under my eyes and a year later I’m still so happy with the results: they look natural and refreshed, exactly what I wanted. In the lead-up to my wedding, I also had a series of facials with Anna, who not only made the appointments fun and relaxing but also transformed my skin — calming dermatitis and leaving me glowing on my wedding day.

Dr. Olga and Dr. Barbara are both incredibly skilled and really respect a natural approach, which I love. Kristina at the front desk is also wonderful and always makes each visit feel warm and personal. Clinicbe has such a talented and thoughtful team — I couldn’t recommend them enough.

I couldn’t recommend Dr Sam’s Clinic enough. Dr Mia has been brilliant. As someone who has struggled with their skin for so long and tried endless products and followed all the advice on social media, I was so tired of never knowing what I was doing wrong. I had perioral dermatitis and honestly thought I would be stuck with this silly rash all around my mouth for a lifetime- can safely say that is not true- and now I can finally tackle any acne and texture I have. Dr Mia has put together a wonderful structured guide to my skincare. It’s a long journey but so worth it in the end and I now don’t need to second guess anything. Greta at reception is so lovely and helpful as well. If you are struggling with your skin, trust me this is the place to go❤️

FAQs

A TCA (trichloroacetic acid) chemical peel is a medium-depth skin resurfacing treatment that uses trichloroacetic acid to remove damaged outer layers of skin, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. TCA peels are stronger than superficial peels like glycolic or lactic acid but less aggressive than deep phenol peels, making them effective for treating various skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and age spots, uneven skin tone and texture, acne scars, melasma and hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores and rough skin texture. TCA peels are available in different concentrations, typically ranging from 10% to 35% or higher, with lower percentages providing lighter peels and higher concentrations creating deeper exfoliation and more dramatic results but also more downtime and risk. The treatment causes controlled chemical injury to the skin, which triggers the body's healing response, stimulating new collagen production and cellular turnover. TCA peels must be performed by qualified professionals in clinical settings, as they require precise application, timing and neutralisation. Results develop gradually as the skin peels and regenerates over 7 to 14 days, with continued improvement for several weeks as collagen remodelling occurs.

In Buckhurst Hill, the price of TCA Peel typically ranges from around £445 to £445, with stronger peels or larger treatment areas usually at the higher end. Prices vary between clinics in Buckhurst Hill and depend on peel concentration, the number of sessions, the treatment area and the practitioner’s experience. If you're researching how much TCA Peel costs in Buckhurst Hill, or want the price of TCA Peel and the overall cost of TCA Peel, be aware that personalised treatment plans can change the final fee. You can find the exact, up-to-date price for this treatment in the catalogue

A TCA peel contains trichloroacetic acid as its primary active ingredient, which is a chemical compound derived from acetic acid. TCA works by causing controlled coagulation of proteins in the skin, which leads to exfoliation and skin regeneration. The concentration of TCA determines the depth and strength of the peel, typically ranging from 10% to 35% or occasionally higher for specific indications. Professional TCA peel formulations may also contain additional ingredients such as blending agents to control penetration depth, buffering agents to stabilise the pH, and sometimes other acids or skin conditioning ingredients. Some TCA peel formulations combine TCA with other acids like glycolic, salicylic or lactic acid to enhance results or modify penetration. The solution is typically clear or slightly coloured, and its strength and formulation should be precisely controlled and prepared by professionals. Unlike some at-home chemical exfoliants, medical-grade TCA peels are highly concentrated and potent, requiring expert knowledge to apply safely and effectively. The exact formulation, concentration and application protocol should be determined by a qualified practitioner based on your skin type, concerns, thickness, previous treatments and desired outcome. TCA peels work differently from superficial peels by penetrating deeper into the skin layers, which is why they produce more dramatic results but also require more expertise and carry higher risks if used improperly.

A 20% TCA peel, which is considered a medium-strength peel, should typically be performed every 3 to 6 months, with most practitioners recommending spacing treatments at least 3 to 4 months apart. The skin needs adequate time to fully heal, regenerate and rebuild collagen between treatments. Performing TCA peels too frequently can cause cumulative damage, compromise the skin barrier, increase scarring risk, lead to hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, cause thinning of the skin and result in chronic sensitivity and irritation. The appropriate frequency depends on several factors including your specific skin concerns and treatment goals; your skin type, thickness and healing capacity; how your skin responded to previous peels; the exact concentration and formulation used; whether you are doing a series for specific concerns or maintenance treatments; your age and overall skin health; and your practitioner's assessment and protocol. For a series addressing specific concerns like acne scarring or significant sun damage, some practitioners may perform treatments every 4 to 6 weeks initially, though this requires careful monitoring and assessment. For maintenance and general skin rejuvenation, treatments every 4 to 6 months are more typical. Between treatments, your skin should be completely healed, with no residual peeling, redness or sensitivity before considering another peel. It is crucial to follow your practitioner's specific recommendations, as they will assess your individual skin condition and adjust timing accordingly. More frequent treatments are not necessarily better and can be harmful. Patience and allowing proper healing time between peels will yield better, safer results than aggressive, frequent treatments.

Yes, TCA peels can provide some skin tightening effects, though the degree of tightening varies depending on the peel strength, your skin condition and realistic expectations. TCA peels tighten skin through several mechanisms: by stimulating new collagen and elastin production, which improves skin firmness and structure over time; causing immediate contraction of skin proteins during the peeling process; improving skin thickness and quality through regeneration; and enhancing overall skin tone and texture, creating a firmer appearance. Medium-depth TCA peels, typically 20% to 35% concentration, provide more noticeable tightening than lighter peels because they penetrate deeper and stimulate more significant collagen remodelling. However, it is important to have realistic expectations: TCA peels provide subtle to moderate tightening suitable for early to mild skin laxity, fine lines and crepey texture; they cannot address significant sagging, jowls or severe skin laxity that would require surgical intervention; tightening effects develop gradually over weeks to months as collagen production increases, not immediately; and results are generally more noticeable on the face, neck and chest areas with thinner skin. For optimal tightening results, a series of TCA peels spaced several months apart may be recommended, along with proper skincare maintenance including retinoids and sun protection. TCA peels work best as part of a comprehensive anti-ageing approach and are most effective for people with mild concerns who want improvement without surgery. For more significant skin laxity, treatments like radiofrequency, ultrasound therapy, thread lifts or surgical options may be more appropriate. A qualified practitioner can assess whether TCA peels are suitable for your specific tightening concerns.

The length of time a TCA peel is left on the face depends on the concentration used, your skin type and tolerance, the desired depth of peel, and your practitioner's specific protocol, but typically TCA peels are not timed in the traditional sense. Unlike some peels that are left on for a specific duration then neutralised, TCA is self-neutralising, meaning it stops penetrating on its own once it reaches a certain depth. Professional application involves carefully applying TCA to the skin in controlled layers, with the practitioner monitoring the visible changes in the skin called 'frosting' to determine when adequate penetration has been achieved. Frosting appears as a white coating on the skin and indicates the depth of penetration. For lighter TCA peels (10-15%), very light frosting or just erythema (redness) may be the endpoint, which occurs within seconds to a couple of minutes. For medium-depth peels (20-35%), the practitioner applies the solution and waits for appropriate frosting levels, typically level I (light frosting) to level III (solid white frosting), which develops over 1 to 3 minutes. Once the desired frosting level is achieved, nothing further needs to be done - the peel is complete and self-limiting. The TCA is not washed off immediately; it remains on the skin and continues its action until it self-neutralises. This is very different from at-home peels or lighter professional peels that are timed and then removed. The expertise required to assess appropriate frosting levels and determine the right endpoint is one of many reasons TCA peels must only be performed by trained professionals. Incorrect timing, over-application or misjudging the depth can result in burns, scarring and permanent damage. Never attempt to time or perform TCA peels yourself - this should only be done by qualified practitioners in clinical settings.

TCA peels are generally considered safe when performed by properly trained, qualified practitioners in appropriate clinical settings on suitable candidates. However, they are medium-depth chemical peels that carry more significant risks than superficial peels and require expert knowledge and technique. Potential risks and complications include post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in darker skin types; hypopigmentation or permanent loss of skin colour with deeper peels or repeated treatments; scarring, especially if the peel is too strong, applied incorrectly or if aftercare is not followed; infection during the healing period if proper hygiene is not maintained; prolonged redness, sensitivity or healing problems; uneven results or demarcation lines; burns or chemical injury if applied incorrectly; reactivation of cold sores in susceptible individuals; and unsatisfactory aesthetic outcomes. TCA peels are not suitable for everyone: people with very dark skin types (Fitzpatrick V-VI), active skin infections, recent use of certain medications like isotretinoin, history of keloid scarring, unrealistic expectations, or certain medical conditions may not be good candidates. Safety depends heavily on proper candidate selection through thorough consultation and medical history assessment; using appropriate concentrations and formulations for the individual's skin type and concerns; precise, controlled application technique by experienced practitioners; comprehensive pre-treatment preparation including sun avoidance and appropriate skincare; strict adherence to aftercare protocols including sun protection, gentle skincare and avoiding picking at peeling skin; and availability of appropriate products and protocols to manage complications if they arise. TCA peels are significantly more powerful than at-home peels and should never be used outside professional settings. While serious complications are relatively rare with skilled practitioners, the risks are real and must be understood before proceeding. Always choose a qualified medical professional with extensive experience in chemical peels who conducts thorough consultations and follows proper protocols.

No, you should absolutely not do TCA peels at home. TCA peels are medical-grade chemical peels that require professional training, expertise and clinical protocols to perform safely. Attempting TCA peels at home carries extremely serious risks including severe chemical burns that can be disfiguring and permanent; deep scarring that cannot be corrected; permanent hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation; infection leading to serious complications; uneven, patchy results; damage to eyes if solution comes into contact with them; systemic absorption if too much is applied to large areas; and inability to manage complications or emergencies that may arise. TCA is a powerful acid that penetrates deep into skin layers, and there is no margin for error. Professional practitioners spend years learning facial anatomy, skin physiology, appropriate peel depth assessment, frosting levels, neutralisation protocols and complication management. They also have access to medical-grade products with controlled concentrations, appropriate pre- and post-treatment protocols, sterile environment and equipment, and emergency management capabilities. Even lower concentrations of TCA (10-15%) that are sometimes marketed for home use carry significant risks and should not be used without professional supervision. The cost savings of at-home peels are not worth the very real risk of permanent disfigurement, scarring or other serious complications. If you are interested in TCA peels, invest in professional treatment at a reputable clinic where the procedure can be performed safely with proper consultation, skin preparation, application technique, monitoring during treatment and comprehensive aftercare. There are safer at-home options like AHA or BHA products if you want home exfoliation, but TCA peels specifically should only ever be performed by qualified professionals in clinical settings. Your skin's health and safety are far too important to risk with DIY medical procedures.

TCA peels are generally not washed off in the traditional sense, as TCA is self-neutralising, meaning it stops penetrating on its own and does not require neutralisation or removal like some other chemical peels. During professional treatment, the practitioner applies TCA solution to the skin, monitors for appropriate frosting levels to ensure correct depth, and once the desired endpoint is reached, the peel is essentially complete. The TCA remains on the skin and self-neutralises within minutes. However, specific protocols vary between practitioners and may include: some practitioners may rinse the face with cool water a few minutes after application once adequate frosting is achieved, though this is more for patient comfort than necessary neutralisation; others may apply post-peel products like soothing serums or ointments without rinsing; and some protocols involve leaving the TCA on the skin completely until the patient goes home. What happens after treatment also varies: most practitioners provide specific instructions about when and how you can wash your face at home, typically recommending waiting at least 4 to 8 hours or until the next morning before the first gentle cleanse; during the peeling phase over the following days, you will wash your face gently with mild, pH-balanced cleansers as directed; and you should avoid hot water, harsh cleansers or any scrubbing or manipulation of peeling skin. The key is following your practitioner's specific aftercare instructions precisely, as protocols differ and are tailored to the strength of peel used, your skin type and treatment goals. Never attempt to remove, neutralise or wash off a TCA peel yourself without professional guidance. If you experience TCA peel at home accidentally (which you should never do intentionally), rinse immediately with copious cool water and seek medical attention. The complexity of TCA peel protocols is another reason why this treatment must only be performed professionally.

Before TCA peel treatment, people typically have concerns such as moderate to severe sun damage with age spots and discolouration; fine to moderate lines and wrinkles; uneven skin texture, rough patches or crepey skin; acne scars or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; melasma or stubborn pigmentation; enlarged pores; dull, aged or tired-looking skin; or precancerous lesions like actinic keratoses. The skin often appears aged, damaged or showing significant signs of environmental exposure and time. After TCA peel treatment and full healing, typically assessed 4 to 8 weeks post-procedure once peeling is complete and collagen remodelling has begun, most people experience significant improvement in the treated areas. Sun damage and age spots are noticeably reduced or eliminated; fine lines and moderate wrinkles appear softer; skin texture becomes smoother, more even and refined; acne scars and pigmentation fade considerably; skin tone becomes more uniform and radiant; pores appear smaller; and overall skin quality, thickness and firmness improve. There is often a noticeable rejuvenating effect, with the skin looking fresher, younger and healthier. The degree of improvement depends on the peel strength used, the severity of original concerns, skin type and healing capacity, adherence to aftercare protocols, and whether a series of peels was performed. However, the treatment process involves significant downtime and discomfort: immediately after the peel, skin will be red, tight and may show white frosting; within 24 to 48 hours, skin becomes increasingly tight, dark and leathery; days 3 to 7 typically involve dramatic peeling, with skin coming off in sheets, particularly around the mouth and nose; the process can be uncomfortable, itchy and socially challenging; complete healing takes 10 to 14 days, though redness may persist for several weeks; and full results are not visible until 4 to 8 weeks post-treatment as skin continues to regenerate and collagen remodels. During healing, strict sun avoidance and gentle skincare are essential. The dramatic peeling and downtime must be carefully considered and planned for. Your practitioner should provide realistic before and after photos from their own work, taken weeks to months after treatment once healing is complete, showing results on various skin types and concerns. TCA peels can provide significant improvement for appropriate candidates willing to commit to the downtime and aftercare, but results are best when expectations are realistic and the treatment is performed as part of a comprehensive skincare approach including diligent sun protection and proper maintenance.
