Best place to go for any treatments, I wouldn’t go elsewhere! I’ve really suffered with teeth clenching and Dr Sian has helped me tremendously by using Botox as a prevention to stop the clenching.
I also had my lips dissolved from over 9 years ago, not half as painful as people had made out to me, and I believe this is due to Dr Sian, so gentle!
The clinic is spotless and Dr Sian’s knowledge is second to none, 100% recommend!! Xx

What a lovely team! I’ve had the pleasure of getting my treatments from Sophie, and she’s amazing. I’ve never been made to feel more comfortable and at ease at an appointment. She’s so knowledgeable, and a dream to chat to! The clinic itself is also a lovely place. Safe to say I’ll be making regular visits for the foreseeable future.

Just Wow! I'm so impressed and happy with my visit today, I was so nervous as this was my first time having lip fillers and got myself in such a state 😅 however my experience was nothing like i thought. It was professional clean and i felt I knew this the person since well forever! She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, she took her time and nothing felt rushed, and with numbing cream i felt next to nothing in pain which is what I was originally so nervous about. Im honestly so glad I found this website, thank you so much again and I will definitely be back soon for other bits and bobs.

I went for a massage as I suffered a lot of pain in my back for a number of months. I had a hot stone massage done by Kerry. she was very professional and as soon as I went in was made to feel relaxed. She couldn’t do enough for me and made me feel at ease as this was the first time I had been to a salon for a massage. Kerry explained all the benefits of a hot stone massage to me and even explained some other treatments I could have to help. After my treatment I felt so much better and even days after kept feeling better and better. I will definitely be returning and would recommend her to anyone.

FAQs

Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction rather than complete permanent removal, meaning the majority of treated hair is eliminated permanently but some hair may remain or regrow over time, typically finer and lighter than before. Understanding this distinction helps set realistic expectations. Laser hair removal is classified by regulatory bodies as a permanent hair reduction treatment, with clinical evidence showing 70% to 90% of hair permanently eliminated after completing a full treatment course; remaining hair is typically finer, lighter and less noticeable; and the results are long-lasting, with most people maintaining smooth skin for years. Why laser cannot guarantee 100% permanent removal relates to hair follicles existing in different growth phases, with only active-growth hair being effectively treated; hormonal changes throughout life can stimulate dormant follicles; individual variation in treatment response; and some fine, light hairs may be resistant to laser energy. What permanent reduction means in practice shows most people experience dramatic, lasting reduction in hair; occasional touch-up sessions may be needed every 1 to 2 years; hormonal changes like pregnancy or menopause may stimulate some regrowth; and overall maintenance is minimal compared to continuous shaving or waxing. Factors affecting permanence include completing the full recommended treatment course; hair and skin type, with dark hair on light skin responding best; the laser technology and settings used; hormonal stability; and following treatment protocols properly. For most people, laser hair removal provides life-changing, long-lasting reduction that eliminates the need for regular hair removal, even if occasional maintenance is needed.

In Mickle Trafford, the price of Laser Hair Removal typically ranges from around £40 to £100, but individual clinics may charge differently. Local pricing depends on the area being treated, the specific laser technology or device used, the number of sessions recommended and the practitioner’s experience. If you want to know how much Laser Hair Removal costs in Mickle Trafford or the price of Laser Hair Removal locally, compare package offers, any included patch tests and aftercare, and whether sessions are sold individually or as a course. You can find the exact, up-to-date price for this treatment in the catalogue

Laser hair removal causes some discomfort, often described as a rubber band snapping against the skin, but pain levels are generally tolerable and manageable. Most people find it less painful than expected, and modern technology and numbing options make treatment more comfortable than ever. Pain level descriptions show most people rate the pain as 3 to 6 out of 10; it is often compared to a rubber band snap or hot pinprick; discomfort is brief, lasting only during the laser pulse; some areas are more sensitive than others; and tolerance typically improves after the first session once you know what to expect. Factors affecting pain include the treatment area, with sensitive areas like bikini line and underarms being more uncomfortable while legs and arms are typically less painful; your individual pain tolerance; hair thickness and density, with thicker, denser hair potentially causing more discomfort; the laser technology, with newer systems often more comfortable; and skin sensitivity. Methods to minimise discomfort include topical numbing cream applied 30 to 60 minutes before treatment; cooling systems built into modern laser devices; ice packs applied before and after treatment; avoiding caffeine before appointments, which can increase sensitivity; and scheduling treatments when not menstruating if hormones affect pain sensitivity. What to expect during treatment shows each pulse lasts a fraction of a second; larger areas take longer with more cumulative discomfort; the first treatment is typically the most uncomfortable as hair is thickest; subsequent sessions become easier as hair thins; and any discomfort stops immediately when treatment ends. Most people find laser hair removal very tolerable, especially considering the long-lasting benefits achieved.

Laser hair removal provides long-lasting hair reduction that persists for years after completing a full treatment course, with most people maintaining 70% to 90% hair reduction permanently. While results are considered permanent hair reduction, occasional maintenance may be needed every 1 to 2 years as hormonal changes or dormant follicles may cause some regrowth. The typical longevity timeline shows that after completing the initial treatment course of 6 to 8 sessions, dramatic hair reduction is achieved; during years 1 to 2, most people maintain excellent results with minimal to no regrowth; during years 2 to 5, the majority maintain smooth skin though occasional touch-ups may be beneficial; and long-term, most hair remains eliminated permanently though some people need maintenance every 1 to 2 years. Factors affecting how long results last include completing the full recommended treatment course; your hormonal stability, as changes can stimulate dormant follicles; the quality of initial treatment and laser technology used; hair and skin type affecting treatment response; and age and life stage, with hormonal events potentially causing some regrowth. Why some hair may return relates to hair follicles existing in different phases, with some not active during treatment; hormonal changes throughout life potentially activating dormant follicles; individual biological variation; and the fact that laser provides permanent reduction, not guaranteed 100% removal. What to expect long-term shows most treated hair remains eliminated permanently; any regrowth is typically finer, lighter and sparser than original hair; maintenance sessions are much quicker and less frequent than initial treatment; and overall, laser hair removal provides freedom from regular hair removal routines. For the vast majority of people, laser hair removal delivers years or even decades of smooth, hair-free skin with minimal maintenance.

Yes, laser hair removal is safe when performed by qualified, trained practitioners using appropriate equipment and settings for your skin type. The treatment has an excellent safety record with decades of use and millions of treatments performed worldwide. The safety profile of laser hair removal includes extensive clinical history demonstrating safety and efficacy; regulatory approval by bodies like FDA and MHRA; proven safety when proper protocols are followed; rare serious complications when performed correctly; and temporary side effects that typically resolve quickly. Common temporary side effects include redness and mild swelling immediately after treatment lasting a few hours; slight discomfort or sensitivity in treated areas; temporary pigment changes, particularly in darker skin; and possible mild crusting or scabbing if settings are too aggressive. Potential risks when not performed correctly include burns if settings are inappropriate for skin type; permanent pigmentation changes with improper treatment; scarring, though rare, with very aggressive settings; eye injury if proper protection is not used; and paradoxical hair growth stimulation in rare cases. Safety depends on proper patient selection and assessment ensuring suitability; appropriate laser type and settings for your skin and hair type; qualified, trained practitioners performing treatment; patch testing before full treatment when appropriate; and proper eye protection during treatment. To ensure safety, choose reputable clinics with qualified practitioners; ensure thorough consultation and skin assessment; verify appropriate laser technology is used; disclose full medical history and medications; and follow all pre and post-treatment instructions. For the vast majority of people treated by qualified practitioners, laser hair removal is a very safe treatment with minimal risk of complications.

Yes, laser hair removal works effectively for permanent hair reduction, with clinical evidence and patient outcomes consistently demonstrating 70% to 90% reduction in hair after completing a full treatment course. However, effectiveness varies based on hair colour, skin tone and individual factors. How laser hair removal works involves the laser targeting melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle; the light energy is absorbed and converts to heat; this heat damages the follicle, preventing future hair growth; and multiple treatments are needed to catch hairs in the active growth phase. Effectiveness by hair and skin type shows the best results occur with dark hair on light skin, providing 80% to 95% permanent reduction; light brown or blonde hair has moderate results with modern technology, achieving 60% to 80% reduction; red and grey hair has minimal to no results as there is insufficient melanin to target; dark skin requires specific lasers like Nd:YAG for safe, effective treatment; and very light blonde, white or grey hair may not respond to laser at all. Clinical evidence supporting effectiveness includes FDA clearance for permanent hair reduction; decades of clinical use demonstrating efficacy; patient satisfaction rates typically exceeding 90%; and proven long-term reduction in multiple studies. Factors affecting how well it works for you include your hair colour and thickness; your skin tone; completing the full treatment course; hormonal stability; the laser technology used; and practitioner skill. Realistic expectations are important because laser provides permanent reduction, not guaranteed complete removal; some fine hair may remain; hormonal changes can affect results; and the best results require completing 6 to 8 sessions.

No, laser hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy, and most practitioners will not treat pregnant women as a precautionary measure. While there is no evidence of harm to the developing baby, the lack of safety studies means it is considered best practice to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Why laser hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy relates to no clinical studies having been conducted on pregnant women for ethical reasons; the unknown effects on the developing fetus, though laser does not penetrate deeply; hormonal changes during pregnancy often affecting hair growth patterns making treatment less effective; increased skin sensitivity during pregnancy potentially increasing discomfort; and professional guidelines recommending avoidance as a precautionary measure. The precautionary principle applies because even though the laser only penetrates millimetres into the skin, without safety data, the conservative approach is to avoid elective treatments; any theoretical risk to the baby, however small, is not justified for cosmetic treatment; and professional liability and ethical considerations support this approach. Alternative hair removal during pregnancy includes shaving as the safest option; waxing if you have used it before without reaction; depilatory creams if patch tested and used in well-ventilated areas; and professional waxing services for areas you cannot easily reach. Hormonal effects on hair during pregnancy show increased hair growth is common due to hormonal changes; some women develop unwanted facial or body hair; and hair growth often normalises after delivery and breastfeeding. When to resume laser hair removal includes waiting until after delivery and finishing breastfeeding; allowing hormones to stabilise, typically 3 to 6 months postpartum; and then reassessing hair growth patterns before starting treatment. While laser hair removal is likely very low risk during pregnancy, the consensus is to wait until afterward for your peace of mind and to follow professional safety guidelines.

Most people require 6 to 8 laser hair removal sessions to achieve optimal permanent hair reduction, with sessions typically spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the treatment area and hair growth cycle. The number needed varies based on hair characteristics, treatment area and individual response. Typical session requirements by area show facial hair often needs 6 to 10 sessions due to hormonal influences; underarms typically need 6 to 8 sessions; bikini and Brazilian areas usually need 6 to 8 sessions; legs typically require 6 to 8 sessions; back and chest often need 6 to 10 sessions; and arms usually require 6 to 8 sessions. Why multiple sessions are necessary relates to hair growing in cycles including anagen (growth), catagen (transition) and telogen (resting) phases; laser only effectively treats hair in the active growth phase; only 10% to 30% of hair is in growth phase at any given time; and multiple treatments are needed to catch all follicles during their growth phase. Factors affecting how many sessions you need include your hair colour and thickness, with darker, coarser hair often clearing faster; hormonal influences, particularly for facial hair; the body area being treated; your skin type and hair growth patterns; and individual response to treatment. Session spacing varies by area with facial areas typically treated every 4 to 6 weeks; body areas typically treated every 6 to 8 weeks; and spacing gradually increases as hair growth slows. After the initial course, maintenance sessions may be needed every 12 to 18 months for touch-ups; hormonal changes may require additional treatments; and some people maintain results without maintenance while others benefit from occasional sessions. Completing the full recommended course is essential for optimal, long-lasting results.

No, laser hair removal does not cause cancer. This is a common concern, but scientific evidence consistently shows that the type of light energy used in hair removal lasers does not damage DNA or increase cancer risk. The lasers used are non-ionising radiation, fundamentally different from cancer-causing radiation. Why laser hair removal does not cause cancer relates to the fact that hair removal lasers use non-ionising radiation, which does not have sufficient energy to damage DNA; this is fundamentally different from ionising radiation like X-rays and UV rays that can cause cancer; the laser wavelengths used penetrate only millimetres into the skin, affecting only hair follicles; and decades of clinical use have not shown any association with cancer development. The difference between radiation types shows ionising radiation including X-rays, gamma rays and UV radiation can damage DNA and potentially cause cancer; non-ionising radiation including visible light, infrared and radio waves does not damage DNA; and laser hair removal uses near-infrared light, which is non-ionising and safe. Scientific evidence supporting safety includes extensive clinical studies showing no cancer link; regulatory approval based on safety data; decades of widespread use without cancer association; and expert consensus from dermatological organisations. Theoretical concerns addressed include the misconception that all radiation is dangerous, when in fact we are constantly exposed to non-ionising radiation from sunlight, electronics and many devices; confusion between different types of radiation; and the reassurance that regulatory bodies worldwide have confirmed safety. The bottom line is that laser hair removal is not associated with cancer risk, has been extensively studied, and is considered safe by medical and regulatory authorities worldwide. Your concern is understandable but unfounded based on current scientific evidence.

Before laser hair removal treatment, people typically have unwanted hair requiring constant maintenance through shaving, waxing or other methods; ingrown hairs and razor bumps causing irritation; dark, coarse hair visible shortly after shaving; time-consuming daily or frequent hair removal routines; skin irritation from repeated shaving or waxing; self-consciousness about visible hair growth; and frustration with the cycle of constant hair removal. These concerns often significantly impact daily routines, clothing choices and confidence. After laser hair removal treatment, following completion of a recommended course of 6 to 8 sessions and allowing time for results to fully develop, most people experience dramatic, life-changing improvement. Common results include 70% to 90% permanent reduction in treated hair; remaining hair being finer, lighter and less noticeable; smooth skin lasting months or years between any needed touch-ups; eliminated ingrown hairs and razor bumps; freedom from daily or constant hair removal; ability to wear anything without concern about visible hair; and significantly enhanced confidence and quality of life. The improvement timeline shows that after session 1, minimal immediate change with hair shedding over 2 to 3 weeks; after sessions 2 to 4, noticeable reduction in hair density and thickness; after sessions 4 to 6, significant improvement with much slower, finer regrowth; and after completing 6 to 8 sessions, optimal results with the majority of hair permanently eliminated. The degree of improvement depends on your hair colour and skin type, with dark hair on light skin achieving best results; completing the full treatment course; hormonal stability; the laser technology and settings used; and individual response to treatment. Before and after expectations should be realistic: laser provides permanent hair reduction rather than guaranteed complete removal; some maintenance may be needed over the years; hormonal changes can affect results; and grey, white or very light hair does not respond to laser. Most satisfied patients are those who complete their full treatment course, maintain realistic expectations about permanent reduction rather than perfection, and appreciate the dramatic improvement in quality of life from freedom from constant hair removal routines.
