I recently had a facial with Emma, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, she made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed. She took the time to assess my skin type and explain each step of the treatment, which I really appreciated. Her touch was gentle but effective, and my skin has honestly never felt so clean and refreshed.

This is my second time coming to the beautiful Doctor Clinic in Lewes from London (which is quite a quick easy journey to the clinic and definitely worth it). I had laser hair removal with Kelly which was incredibly quick and painless. I have tried other clinics for laser hair removal in the past which hasn’t worked so I decided to try again with the Lumenis Splenor X which is fantastic. I also had a relaxing hydra facial which was wonderful. Would definitely recommend and can’t already booked in for more treatments.

From the moment I first engaged with ANew Clinics, I was blown away, not just by the in-person experience, but by the entire journey leading up to my appointment.

Their communication, flexibility, and transparency on costs and suitability for my health conditions and medications were outstanding. I felt supported and reassured before I even walked through the door.

I visited to discuss excessive sweating, an issue that has impacted my confidence for over a year. As someone who speaks publicly and attends many events, this has been particularly challenging. What struck me immediately was that Dr. Aak put my wellbeing first, even recommending a treatment she does not personally provide, because it could be more beneficial for me. That honesty built instant trust and set the tone for the rest of my experience.
Dr. Aak’s expertise comes not just from her training, professional and educational journey, but from her personal journey overcoming gaps in skin treatment solutions that she personally was experiencing. Her passion for empowering others to look after their skin shines through in everything she does. During my consultation, she conducted detailed skin scans and explained the long-term impact of neglecting underlying issues, an eye-opening and educational moment that shifted my perspective. For the first time, I truly appreciated the importance of investing in my skin and confidence.
She also took time to ask about my long-term medications, highlighting how they might be affecting my skin and overall health, something I had never considered. Her recommendation of hypochlorous, a natural and affordable product already produced by our skin, was tailored perfectly to my needs.
What truly impressed me was the combination of medical expertise, compassion, and genuine care for clients. The entire team made me feel at ease, valued, and empowered. As a female business owner, it was inspiring to see another woman invest so deeply in her own expertise, tools, and client relationships, not just aiming for quick results, but for long-term impact.

I left not only with several treatments and high-quality products, but also with a renewed sense of confidence and a commitment to prioritizing my wellbeing. If we can spend on things that don’t truly serve us, why wouldn’t we invest in something as essential as our health and skin.

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Aak and her incredible team at ANew Clinics. They deliver not just treatments, but trust, education, and empowerment.

I support her desire to grow a full wellness service!

FAQs

Jawline filler typically lasts between 12 to 18 months, with many people experiencing results for around 15 months on average. The jawline is a relatively stable area with good underlying bone structure and less movement than areas like the lips, which helps filler last longer. Several factors influence longevity including the specific product used, with thicker, more robust fillers designed for structural support lasting longer than softer formulations; the amount of filler injected, with larger volumes sometimes lasting slightly longer; your individual metabolism and how quickly your body breaks down hyaluronic acid; your age, lifestyle habits and activity level; and the injection technique and placement depth. Some advanced products specifically formulated for the jawline and lower face can last up to 18 to 24 months. People with faster metabolisms or who exercise very intensely may find their filler breaks down more quickly. Most practitioners recommend a review appointment around 12 to 15 months after treatment to assess whether you need a top-up. With regular maintenance sessions, some people find they need less filler over time to maintain definition, as repeated treatments can stimulate some collagen production in the area.

Jawline filler typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to fully settle, though the timeline varies between individuals and can depend on the amount of filler used. Immediately after treatment, there will be swelling, which can be quite noticeable along the jawline and may make your jaw appear more defined or wider than the final result. Most of the initial swelling subsides within the first 5 to 7 days, with more subtle swelling, firmness, tenderness and any minor lumpiness usually resolving over the following 2 to 3 weeks. Some people experience minimal swelling that settles quickly within a week, while others have more pronounced swelling that takes longer to resolve, particularly if larger volumes were used or if there is bruising. The jawline can also feel tight, firm or slightly uncomfortable during the settling period, especially when eating, speaking or touching the area. The filler itself needs time to integrate with the surrounding tissue, soften and settle into its final position. You might notice slight asymmetry, unevenness or the jawline appearing more pronounced initially, which typically resolves as swelling subsides and the product fully integrates. It is crucial not to judge your final result until all swelling has completely resolved, usually by the 2 to 4 week mark. Your practitioner should schedule a follow-up appointment around 2 to 4 weeks after treatment to assess the results once everything has settled and determine if any adjustments or additional filler are needed to achieve optimal symmetry and definition.

Jawline filler is used to enhance the definition, shape and contour of the jawline, creating a more sculpted, balanced and aesthetically pleasing lower face. The treatment can address various concerns including a weak or undefined jawline that lacks sharpness or definition; an asymmetrical jaw where one side differs from the other; loss of jawline definition due to ageing, volume loss or skin laxity; jowls that blur the distinction between the face and neck; a recessed or narrow jaw that affects facial proportions; or simply enhancing a naturally less prominent jawline for better facial contour. Jawline filler, typically made from hyaluronic acid, is strategically injected along the jawline and sometimes extending to the chin and pre-jowl area to create structure and definition. When placed correctly, it can create a sharper, more defined jaw angle; improve the transition between the face and neck; enhance facial balance and proportions, particularly in relation to the midface and chin; create a more masculine or feminine jawline depending on placement and technique; reduce the appearance of jowls by providing structural support; and contribute to an overall more youthful, sculpted appearance. The results are immediate, though swelling can temporarily exaggerate the definition. Well-executed jawline filler creates natural-looking enhancement that frames the face beautifully without appearing overdone or artificial.

Most people find jawline filler moderately to significantly uncomfortable, as the jawline area can be quite sensitive and the treatment involves multiple injections along a relatively large area. The procedure typically involves numerous injection points or the use of cannulas along the jaw, both of which can cause discomfort. To minimise pain, most practitioners apply topical numbing cream 20 to 30 minutes before treatment, and many modern fillers contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that provides additional numbing once injected. Some practitioners may use dental nerve blocks to numb the lower face more thoroughly, which can make the procedure much more comfortable, especially for larger volume treatments. With adequate numbing, many people describe the sensation as pressure, pushing, dull aching or discomfort rather than sharp pain. You may feel the needle or cannula moving along the jawline and the filler being deposited, along with the practitioner massaging and moulding the product into position, which can feel strange and uncomfortable. The area near the jaw angle can be particularly tender. After treatment, the jawline typically feels sore, tender, tight and bruised for several days, with discomfort often more noticeable when eating, smiling, talking or sleeping on your side. Some people experience throbbing or aching for the first 24 to 48 hours. The level of discomfort also depends on the amount of filler being injected, with larger volumes requiring more injections and causing more post-treatment soreness. If you are particularly anxious about pain, discuss this with your practitioner beforehand so they can use additional numbing techniques and take extra care to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.

Jawline filler can make your face appear wider if too much product is used, if it is placed incorrectly, or if the treatment approach does not suit your facial structure and aesthetic goals. However, when performed skillfully by an experienced practitioner who understands facial proportions and anatomy, jawline filler should enhance definition and create better contour without necessarily making the face look wider. The effect depends on several factors: the placement technique, with filler placed precisely along the jawline bone creating definition rather than width, versus filler placed too far out or too superficially creating a widened appearance; the amount of filler used, with conservative volumes enhancing the natural jawline versus excessive amounts creating bulk; your starting facial structure, as people with naturally wider faces may become wider with jawline filler, while those with narrow faces may achieve better balance; and the overall treatment plan, as sometimes combining jawline filler with chin filler or cheek filler creates better harmony without excess width. A skilled practitioner will assess your facial proportions during consultation and create a treatment plan that enhances definition without unfavourable widening. For some people, particularly those with very round or wide faces, alternative treatments or a different approach may be more suitable. If you are concerned about width, communicate this clearly with your practitioner so they can tailor the treatment to create length and definition rather than width, potentially focusing more on the chin and front of the jaw rather than the angles.

No, jawline fillers are not permanent. Most jawline fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a temporary substance that the body gradually breaks down and absorbs over time. This is actually a benefit rather than a limitation, as it provides flexibility to adjust or refine your results, allows you to try the enhancement without lifelong commitment, and eliminates the risk of permanent complications if you are unhappy with the outcome. Hyaluronic acid jawline filler typically lasts 12 to 18 months before requiring top-up treatments to maintain results. Once you stop having treatments, your jawline will gradually return to its pre-treatment appearance as the filler breaks down. There are some semi-permanent and permanent filler options available, such as those containing calcium hydroxylapatite or polymethyl methacrylate, but these are generally not recommended for the jawline due to the higher risk of complications, difficulty in correcting unsatisfactory results, and potential for long-term problems. Some people mistakenly believe that repeated filler treatments will eventually become permanent, but this is not true - each treatment is temporary and requires ongoing maintenance. The temporary nature of hyaluronic acid fillers is advantageous because facial trends, personal preferences and your own facial structure change over time, and you may not want the same jawline enhancement permanently. If problems occur with hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved quickly with hyaluronidase, which is not possible with permanent fillers.

Jawline fillers are generally considered safe when performed by properly qualified, experienced practitioners using approved products in a clinical setting. However, as with any injectable treatment, there are potential risks and complications ranging from common minor side effects to rare but serious problems. Common temporary side effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, firmness and discomfort along the jawline, which typically resolve within days to weeks. More concerning but rare complications can include vascular occlusion, where filler accidentally blocks a blood vessel, potentially leading to tissue damage, skin necrosis or other serious problems; infection at injection sites; nerve damage causing temporary or, rarely, permanent numbness, altered sensation or movement problems in the lower face; asymmetry or unevenness; lumps, nodules or visible irregularities; filler migration creating distorted contours; allergic reactions; and unsatisfactory aesthetic results. The jawline area contains important blood vessels, nerves and lies close to major facial structures, so proper anatomical knowledge and careful technique are crucial. The safety of jawline filler depends heavily on choosing a qualified medical practitioner with extensive experience in facial anatomy and filler techniques, particularly in the complex jawline and lower face area; using genuine, approved hyaluronic acid products from reputable manufacturers; having treatment performed in a clean clinical environment with proper emergency protocols; and receiving thorough consultation including medical history assessment and realistic discussion of risks and benefits. Always disclose your complete medical history, current medications and any previous facial treatments. If you experience severe pain, skin discolouration, vision changes or other concerning symptoms after treatment, seek immediate medical attention. While serious complications are rare with skilled practitioners, understanding the risks is essential for informed consent.

Yes, jawline filler can migrate, though when performed correctly by an experienced practitioner using appropriate products and techniques, the risk is relatively low. Migration occurs when filler moves from its intended placement along the jawline to surrounding areas, which can create an unnatural appearance, loss of definition, irregularities or an undefined, heavy lower face. The risk of migration increases if too much filler is injected at once or over multiple sessions, creating excessive volume that the tissues cannot hold in place; if filler is placed too superficially rather than at the appropriate depth near the bone; if inappropriate types of filler are used that are too soft or fluid for structural support; if the practitioner lacks proper understanding of jaw anatomy and optimal placement; or if there is excessive massage or manipulation of the area after treatment. Factors that may contribute to migration include overfilling beyond the tissue's capacity, natural facial movement and muscle activity over time, gravity pulling the filler downward, trauma or pressure to the jaw area, or using products not designed for structural enhancement. Signs of migration include filler appearing lower than originally placed, creating a heavy or dragged appearance; loss of crisp jawline definition; the jaw appearing wider or bulgier rather than sharply defined; visible irregularities or lumps; or the 'pillow face' effect extending to the lower face. To minimise migration risk, choose an experienced injector who understands jaw anatomy and uses conservative amounts of appropriate products placed at the correct depth near the bone, avoid excessive touching, massage or manipulation of the area after treatment except as directed by your practitioner, and resist the temptation to have too much filler. If you notice migration, the filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Prevention through skilled technique and a conservative approach is always preferable to correction.

Jawline filler can improve the appearance of a mild double chin in some cases, but it does not directly remove or eliminate submental fat, and its effectiveness for this concern is limited and depends on the underlying cause. Jawline filler works by creating better definition and structure along the jawline, which can sharpen the transition between the face and neck, making a mild double chin less noticeable. By adding projection and definition, particularly when combined with chin filler, the treatment can create a more defined profile that draws attention away from submental fullness. However, jawline filler has significant limitations for double chin: it does not remove or reduce the actual fat causing the double chin; it works best only for very mild cases where the issue is primarily lack of definition rather than significant fat deposits; if you have substantial submental fat, loose skin or poor skin elasticity, jawline filler alone will not provide satisfactory improvement and may even make the area look worse by adding bulk without addressing the fat; and in some cases, the contrast between a newly defined jawline and the existing double chin can actually make the double chin more noticeable. For moderate to significant double chin concerns, more appropriate treatments include fat dissolving injections specifically for submental fat, such as deoxycholic acid treatments; cryolipolysis fat freezing; radiofrequency treatments; liposuction; or surgical options for significant cases with loose skin. A comprehensive approach might combine jawline and chin filler for definition with fat reduction treatments for the double chin. A skilled practitioner will assess your individual anatomy and the cause of your double chin to recommend the most appropriate treatment or combination of treatments. Realistic expectations are crucial, as jawline filler alone should not be expected to eliminate a double chin.

Before jawline filler, people typically have concerns such as a weak, undefined or soft jawline that lacks sharpness and definition; loss of jawline contour due to ageing, with the development of jowls blurring the distinction between face and neck; asymmetry where one side of the jaw differs noticeably from the other; a recessed or narrow jawline affecting overall facial proportions and balance; lack of transition definition between the face and neck; or simply wanting enhancement of a naturally less prominent jawline for better facial structure. These concerns often make the face appear less sculpted, older, heavier or less balanced. After jawline filler treatment, once all swelling has subsided usually within 2 to 4 weeks, the jawline typically appears more defined, sharper and better sculpted. There is improved contour and angularity along the jaw, creating a more structured lower face. The transition between the face and neck becomes more defined, jowls may appear less prominent due to better structural support, and overall facial proportions look more balanced and harmonious. The profile often shows significant improvement, with a stronger, more aesthetic line from the chin to the ear. The face may appear more youthful, slimmer and more chiselled. The degree of change depends on the starting point, the amount of filler used, placement technique, whether chin filler was also used for comprehensive lower face enhancement, and individual facial anatomy. Results can range from subtle refinement to quite noticeable transformation, particularly in profile view. Immediately after treatment, the jawline will be swollen, possibly bruised and may appear overly defined or asymmetrical, so patience during the settling period is essential. Final results are best assessed 2 to 4 weeks after treatment when all swelling has resolved. Your practitioner should provide realistic before and after photos from their own work, taken after swelling has resolved, showing results on various face shapes and from multiple angles including profile view to help you understand what to expect. Well-executed jawline filler should create natural-looking definition that enhances your features without appearing overdone or artificial, complementing your overall facial structure.
