Would give 0 stars if I could. Do not recommend this hospital at all! My surgeon was Dr Lopa Patel. I booked for a breast augmentation and at my consultation it was discussed I would like high profile round implants and showed inspiration pictures of girls who had been here and had the same type. This was confirmed. I was measured and advised 500cc which I tried on however I said this seems too big as in my head I originally had thought around 300/350. I was advised this would be too small due to my body frame which I completely understood. I was told minimum I could go was 400. I tried the 400cc and said I was unsure and asked to try 450cc to compare. I couldn’t decide at this point in which the surgeon noted down they would order 400 and 450 for me to go home and think about on the lead up to my operation. I read through the consultation notes as well as my friend and signed this trusting that the surgeon had written what was discussed. On the day of my operation I was asked by the surgeon if they wanted for her to just put in what cc she thinks best and will tell me when I wake up. I said it’s okay and chose 450 as it was in between the smallest and what was advised as my aim wasn’t to be too big it was high ‘pushed up’ round breasts. After the operation I realised they weren’t as high as I wanted but trusted the process that they would fluff out and be fine once they’d healed. Months go by I contacted them asking for a review as they were dropping more. I was invited to a review in January and told dr Patel about the concerns I had. I was then told ‘you didn’t have high profile? You got medium?’ I said this was not what was discussed. The surgeon referred to notes from the original consultation in which I then realised she had written medium and I had singed this not realising. I got upset and was confused as to why high profile was confirmed and then why medium had been written? I didn’t know ‘medium’ profile was an option so had not picked this up on the consultation notes as I had trusted what was discussed is what was written in medical terms I may not have understood. I was shown the chart of different profiles and said I definitley did not choose this, it wasn’t shown to me and if I knew extra high profile was an option I would’ve probably gone with this instead of just high! I was told there’s nothing they can do because I’d signed it, which I understand however kept questioning why she’d written something different to discussed in which she couldn’t answer because she couldn’t remember. I then got more upset and my mother was with me who also questioned this and asked is the patient always wrong then? Dr Patel then said let me have a look at them, in which she took pictures and said yeh there perfect. I said to me these are not perfect or what I wanted at all, maybe someone who asked for medium profile they would be yes! But not high profile or what I asked for. She then said ok all you can do is write to Graeme the director. I asked for the exact name and address which was a struggle to get. As soon as I travelled back home I wrote up my concerns and addressed these to Graeme in February. They were received by the hospital the day after they were sent and a month and a half went by with no response, I sent an email and was then given a response and the complaints policy which advised 20 days for. The date the letter was received, I responded to say it’s well over this and then finally got a response to say there’s nothing they can do because I signed for medium profile and this is what I was given. And also everyone is different so can’t match images of other girls. I understood this but overall my point was this whole time I thought I’d had high profile, realised they’d dropped far too low and was then told I don’t have high profile? To top this off, I found de Patel on Facebook and 3 days AFTER I’d been down to Manchester crying about the issue, she’d posted my photos on her Facebook saying ‘amazing results’. Absolutely awful!!!!
